BAUBAUPOST.COM, BAUBAU-Baubau City Trade and Industry Office (Perindag) held a training on diversification of processed fish products for small and medium groups (IKM) at the Adiguna hotel, Monday (08/06). Participants were housewives from Palabusa Village.
“Why choose Palabusa because the area is a coastal area so that it fits in with the theme of our current training, which is optimizing fish processing,” said Head of the Office of Industry and Trade Baubau H Radjulun SH.
The word said the aim of this activity was to invite the community to use the resources around it to improve the skills that led to increased prosperity. According to Radjulun, this training is important to improve the skills of mothers in supporting their family’s economy.
This training was held for two days and attended by at least 30 participants. This training was guided by the Department of Industry and Trade and collaborated with the SMK 2 Baubau. Radjulun said the training was focused on fish processing, the reason being that the material was available and the making was easy as making fish abon, nuget, meatballs, and Mpek-mpek.
“In the future, we only provide training on how to package well so that it is easy to market. This section is important because it is the ultimate goal of the training. It gives you the example that there is no difference between the Baruasa cake made in Baubau and the Baruasa cake made in Makassar. “In Makassar, it is well packaged and well-bended,” he said.
Meanwhile, Assistant 2 of the Baubau City Government, Amsir Afie, who is represented by PJ Mayor of Baubau, Dr. Hado Hasina, hopes that the training that has been followed should be applied so that it can be more useful.
“This training theme is very good because it only focuses on one item, namely fish processing. Hopefully the results will be able to improve the skills of the participants and finally it can be implemented so that it has an impact on improving the family’s economy, “He said.
Amsir Afie apologized to the Acting Mayor of Hado Hasina who could not attend because of the density of the meeting agenda on the same day as well as an apology for the delay due to the waiting for the arrival of Acting Mayor of Baubau. Even so, he continued, there were still benefits because from the morning, the training was already underway where participants received the initial material.
Amsir Afie said that as a housewife it cannot only depend on the husband’s income, but can be supported by a home industry that can be done by housewives by utilizing free time. The role of the government certainly facilitates training activities.
He expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and hoped the participants could be proficient in making fish abon, nuget, and mpek-mpek. “Even if they are those who develop it on a large scale of production, of course they need large capital. Also present at the event were the Secretary of the Office of the Office of Dra Sitti Amalia Abibu MSi and Chairperson of the Committee Saryati Musuidu. (AT / SPECIAL)
